Refilling HP 950, HP 951 with refill tool QU-FILL Professional
The QU-FILL Profi in solid brass quality enables you to refill the HP 950, HP 951 ink cartridges without altering the cartridge. After a few simple preparing steps you can open the ball valve of the ink outlet with the QU-FILL Profi. Thereby a vacuum is created inside the cartridge and the ink is sucked into the cartridge automatically.
The HP 950, HP 951 cartridges are equipped with several vent holes. The outlets of the lateral air ducts are visible below the label as small immersions. At the front of the cartridge are 2 additional vent holes. For the refill techique with vacuum it is necessary to seal these holes. We use normal parcel tape which compensates even slightly elevations by firmly pressing it on.
Tips and Tricks from Pros
The vent holes are conected with air bags inside the cartridge. You need to exhaust the air from these air bags to fill in the ink.
With the QU-FILL Profi with Luer Lock syringe you can press air into the ink outlet. The arising pressure squeezes the air out of the bags through the vent holes. Afterwards seal the vent holes with parcel tape and press the QU-FILL Profi without syringe into the ink outlet to reduce the pressure.
Draw the recommended amount of ink into a 50ml Luer Lock syringe and screw the QU-FILL Profi on. The top of the tool fits easily into the ink outlet at the front. You feel a little resistance when opening the ball valve with the top of the QU-FILL Profi.
When pulling the plunger of the Luer Lock syringe up and holding it in the upper position for a while the vacuum evolves inside the cartridge. You can see air cells inside the ink in the syringe. When you let go of the plunger the ink runs into the cartridge to compensate the pressure and the plunger slowly slides back down.
After filling in the required amount of ink into the cartridge you need to remove the tape. Your next step should be to exchange the chip on the cartridge to continue printing with a working ink filling level indicator.

It is important to fill in the exact amount of ink according to the cartridge type so that the chip can work properly. Thereby you get the actual capacity of pages and avoid wasting ink.

So far there is no possibility to reset the chip on the cartridge. But as with nearly all printers it is possible to disable or ignore the ink filling level indicator and continue printing.Another way is to exchange the original chip with a new one from us (see right). The ink filling level is correctly displayed afterwards.
