Brother chips and chip resetters for ink cartridges

Brother chips are important components when you want to reuse compatible or refilled ink cartridges. The cartridge chip communicates status information and the calculated ink level to the printer. After an empty original cartridge has been refilled, its stored status may still indicate that no ink is available. Depending on the cartridge series, this information can be restored with a suitable chip resetter or renewed by fitting a compatible replacement chip.

Octopus offers chip resetters for various Brother LC cartridge families, including LC-123, LC-125, LC-127, LC-223, LC-225, LC-227, LC-229, LC-3211, LC-3213, LC-3217, LC-3219, LC-3237 and LC-3239. To perform a reset, the cartridge is removed from the printer and its chip is carefully placed against the contact pins of the resetter. Compatible devices reset the stored consumption status. On resetters equipped with an indicator light, a colour change usually confirms that the procedure has been completed.

Individual replacement chips for black, cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges are also available for series such as Brother LC-3219 XL, LC-421 XL, LC-422 XL, LC-424 XL, LC-426 XL and LC-427 XL. Complete CMYK chip sets provide all four colours in one package. These chips are particularly suitable for compatible or refillable cartridges when the existing chip cannot be reset. The colour, cartridge number and chip version must always match the cartridge exactly.

Brother chip resetters and replacement chips are useful for organised cartridge refilling in offices, home offices and private printing environments. Before ordering, compare the complete LC reference on your cartridge with the stated compatibility information. A chip does not refill the cartridge and does not guarantee that ink is physically present. You should therefore inspect and refill the cartridge in good time. This helps prevent continued printing with an empty cartridge and supports reliable use of the refill system.
