Octopus Fluids Sheen Inks – fascinating fountain pen inks with a two-colour effect

Get ready for an almost magical writing experience! Octopus Fluids Sheen Inks create a fascinating two-colour effect. Each ink is inspired by a mythical creature – from the enchanting Unicorn and mysterious Medusa to the enigmatic Djinn and elusive Sea Serpent.

The appearance of the ink changes depending on the viewing angle and the paper you use: a contrasting, metallic-looking sheen in shades such as copper, gold or pink appears over the base colour. The effect is particularly intense in areas where more ink collects on the paper.

The right paper makes all the difference. The intensity of the sheen depends on the paper, writing instrument and ink flow. It develops best on smooth, low-absorbency, fountain pen-friendly paper.

For a particularly intense colour experience, we recommend Tomoe River and Iroful paper. Other fountain pen-friendly papers such as Oxford Optik Paper or Canson Marker Paper can also bring out the sheen beautifully. On more absorbent paper, the base colour of the ink will be more prominent.

The effect is particularly intense with broader nibs and generous ink flow. Glass dip pens, calligraphy fountain pens and refillable brush pens are also excellent choices. As Sheen Inks are water-soluble and specially formulated to create this effect, they may take slightly longer to dry than conventional fountain pen inks. We use exclusively vegan ingredients in their production.

Whether for special letters, bullet journals, poetry, greeting cards or everyday notes – Octopus Fluids Sheen Inks turn writing into a fascinating play of colour.

Our tip: Try your Sheen Ink on different papers and with different nibs. Even small changes can significantly affect the intensity of the sheen and reveal completely new facets of your ink.
