Chips for Lexmark ink cartridges are important components when suitable cartridges are professionally refilled or refurbished. The chip acts as an electronic interface between the ink cartridge and the printer. It transmits cartridge-related information and allows the device to identify the installed cartridge. Depending on the cartridge type and printer model, replacing the existing chip may therefore be necessary after refilling.
