Cartridge Covers and Sealing Plugs for Ink Cartridges

Cartridge covers and sealing plugs are useful accessories when you refill, store or transport ink cartridges. They help close filling openings, cover sensitive cartridge areas and reduce the risk of ink leaking or drying out. The correct product depends on the cartridge design and the intended application. Small sealing plugs with a diameter of approximately 4 mm can be used with selected Epson, Canon and HP cartridges. Model-specific plugs are also available for numerous HP ink cartridge series. After the cartridge has been filled, the plug is inserted into the appropriate opening to create a clean and controlled seal.

Metal balls are used for certain older Canon and HP cartridge types. They are pressed into the filling port to close the opening created or accessed during the refill process. Since cartridge constructions and refill methods vary, always check the compatibility of the sealing component with your specific cartridge series before use.

Blue Tape is an adhesion tape designed for ink cartridges with integrated printheads. It can be applied over the printhead area during storage or transportation to protect the sensitive surface from dirt and mechanical contact. The tape adheres without the conventional adhesive layer used on many standard tapes and can be removed after correct application. It must always be removed completely before the cartridge is installed in the printer. A desktop dispenser makes it easier to cut the required length neatly and efficiently.
