Refill adapters and air extraction adapters for ink cartridges

Refill adapters are useful tools for the controlled refilling and preparation of reusable ink cartridges. This category includes compatible adapters and air extraction adapters for a wide range of Canon and HP cartridge models. Available options cover cartridges such as Canon PG-40, PG-50, PG-510 and CL-511 as well as HP 15, HP 17, HP 23, HP 27, HP 45, HP 56, HP 300 to HP 305, HP 337 to HP 348 and HP 901.

An air extraction adapter is primarily used with cartridges that have an integrated print head. After a cartridge has been refilled, small air pockets may remain inside the cartridge, close to the ink outlet or in the print head area. By connecting a suitable syringe to the adapter, gentle negative pressure can be applied. This draws ink towards the nozzles and helps remove trapped air. The procedure supports a continuous ink supply and prepares the cartridge for installation in the printer.

For individual ink tanks from the HP 364, HP 912, HP 917 and HP 920 series, Octopus provides colour-specific refill adapters for black, photo black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Using separate adapters for each colour reduces the risk of residual ink causing unwanted colour mixing. A 22 mm Fill Cuff is also available for various wide individual ink tanks from Canon, HP and compatible cartridge designs.

The exact cartridge number must always be checked before selecting an adapter. Cartridge shape, sealing surface and outlet construction can vary considerably between series. Use each refill adapter only with the specified cartridge models and apply pressure or suction slowly and carefully. The adapters are made from dimensionally stable materials and are suitable for recurring refill work at home, in service workshops and in professional cartridge refilling environments. After use, clean all parts that have come into contact with ink and store adapters separately according to colour.
