The Barock ink collection is a reissue of the traditional ink brand Barock, which for decades accompanied all writers in the former GDR with its fountain pen inks. Barock inks were manufactured in the Saxon state capital of Dresden until 2011. The company's insolvency initially signalled the end of the brand, but not the end of ink production at the Saxon site. Rather, it was the starting signal for the production of the first Octopus fountain pen inks, which reflected the expertise of some former Barock employees.

We are proud to be able to continue this legacy under the Barock brand name. The new Barock ink collections complement our classic writing ink range with expressive, well-saturated inks for fountain pens, glass nibs and rollerball pens. Baroque inks are fountain pen inks of the highest quality, combining the tradition of the past with modern writing characteristics. Each Baroque ink collection is dedicated to a decade of our century and consists of 6 perfectly coordinated colours that reflect the zeitgeist of the respective decade.

Our 1910 Baroque ink collection pays homage to the Art Nouveau period and skilfully captures the everyday life of people at that time in colour: a deep grey anthracite is reminiscent of the smoke-filled factories and hard work of the time. The colours umber, jade and caviar, on the other hand, tell of the efforts of the artists of this era to imitate nature in their works.

With the included ink converter, you can easily change your writing colour to suit your mood or the season without the need for ink cartridges. The converter is suitable for all fountain pens with a standard cartridge system. It is not compatible with Lamy, Montblanc, Parker and Waterman fountain pens.
