Instructions on how to change the drum unit for Epson Aculaser C 1100

Remove the drum unit from you printer and place it on the table in front of you as you see in picture 1. On the left side of the cartridge is a small black plastic ring which is locked with 2 screws. Remove the 2 screws marked in the picture (1) and carefully remove the plastic ring (picture 2).

On the right side of the cartridge is an axle bearing made of copper which should be locked so that the drum unit can not leave its position. Now you need to loosen this locking mechanism. For this turn the copper component a quarter clockwise (picture 3). Now the drum unit and bearing should be loose and you can carefully lever them from the cartridge (picture 4).

You also need to remove the white thrust bearings on the right and left side of the cartridge. For this loosen the marked screws and remove the white bearings (picture 5 and 6).

Now the drum unit is completely free and you can remove it. After exchanging the drum unit you need to reassemble the cartridge. For this proceed in reverse order. Make sure that everything fits together smoothly. 

Exchanging the chip for Epson Aculaser C 1100:

After you have exchanged the drum unit you need to exchange the chip as well. You can remove it by using a cutter knife or a flat screwdriver as lever (picture 8). Now lock the new chip in its place. Your drum unit is now ready to work again.

Safety instructions for the handling of refill toners

Refill toner and toner powder may cause serious health problems if not handled carefully. We recommend always using breathing protection or suction chambers while filling toner cartridges. Furthermore, toner powder and refill toner can be highly flammable with an appropriate oxygen mixture.  Please note as well, that you should touch the photoconductor drum in no case or expose it to direct sunlight.
