Refill Instructions Epson Aculaser C1100, CX11

To refill proceed as follows:
Remove the cartridge which you want to refill from your printer and place it on the table in front of you (picture 1). Now you need to open it. To do that, push aside the lock at the opening mechanism (picture 2) with a small screwdriver. Now you can unscrew the head of the cartridge. The right lower opening (with mirror) is the one for the remaining toner container. You should empty the container after the second refilling. That is necessary to get the best printing results. Now slowly fill the toner into the upper left filler opening (picture 1 and 3). We recommend using a funnel with a thin top.

Note: Shake the bottle with the toner well before refilling. By that the toner has better flow characteristics and can be easily filled into the cartridge. After you have refilled the cartridge you need to exchange the chip. It is located on the side with the coloured head of the cartridge (picture 4). Carefully lever the old chip from the holder with a flat screwdriver. Now reinsert the new chip in the same position. Make sure that the retaining clips of the chip can lock into position (picture 5).

By changing the chip your printer recognizes the cartridge as full. Please refill toner every time so that the cartridge gets its full print capacity. If you do not do that your printer might recognize the cartridge as empty which damages the chip. You can use a new chip only once.

Attention: The chip has to be changed after every refilling process. After you have refilled the cartridge you reinsert it into the printer. Please make sure that the cartridge does not leak.

Safety instructions for the handling of refill toners

Refill toner and toner powder may cause serious health problems if not handled carefully. We recommend always using breathing protection or suction chambers while filling toner cartridges. Furthermore, toner powder and refill toner can be highly flammable with an appropriate oxygen mixture.  Please note as well, that you should touch the photoconductor drum in no case or expose it to direct sunlight. This could lead to faulty print-outs. Octopus Office will not take any responsibility for success or failure of the described procedure.
