Dot matrix printer

Dot matrix printers are comparable to a typewriter that uses an ink ribbon. Instead of finished letters, segments of the letters are placed on the paper by needles. Continuous paper is often used. A decisive advantage is the possibility of picking up carbon copies, which is why such printers can still be found in many medical practices or companies today. The control takes place directly from the computer, memory is not or only minimally available. The printing speed is low (approx. 1 second per line).
