Refill Instructions for Samsung ML-2160, ML-2165, SCX-3405, SF-760

Please read these instructions carefully before you start refilling. When refilling toner cartridges, we generally recommend wearing latex gloves and a fine particle mask.

Preparation before refilling Samsung ML-2160, ML-2165, SCX-3405, SF-760 cartridges:

Take the cartridge and remove the 2 welding spots marked in picture 1. Now turn it around and remove the 3 welding spots on the opposite side. Use a small knive or another cutting tool for that (picture 3). When you have removed the welding spots on both sides you can take off the side covers. Lay them aside you need them after refilling.After taking off the covers you can separate the 2 parts from each other (picture 4). For refilling use the upper part without drum unit.Remove the sealing plug from the cartridge and lay it aside.Before refilling the toner cartridge, you should pour out the rest of the toner powder or exhaust it with an aspirator for toner powders. Otherwise the physical and chemical characteristics of the old and the new toner powders could lead to a formation of clots.

Refilling Samsung cartridges ML-2160, ML-2165, SCX-3405, SF-760:

Take the bottle of refill toner and shake it up a little. Thus, the toner is more fluid, which makes refilling easier for you. Screw a funnel onto the bottle and carefully fill the toner into the cartridge (picture 5). After refilling you can close the filler opening with the recently removed sealing plug. Now that you have succesfully refilled the cartridge you need to exchange the chip. It monitors the toner filling level and has to be changed after every refilling.

Exchanging the chip for Samsung ML-2160, ML-2165, SCX-3405, SF-760:

Take the side cover and remove the chip (picture 6). Insert the new chip in the same direction. After exchanging the chip you can reassemble the cartridge in reverse order. Make sure that everything fits together smoothly.

Safety instructions for the handling of refill toners

Refill toner and toner powder may cause serious health problems if not handled carefully. We recommend always using breathing protection or suction chambers while filling toner cartridges. Furthermore, toner powder and refill toner can be highly flammable with an appropriate oxygen mixture. Please note as well, that you should touch the photoconductor drum in no case or expose it to direct sunlight. This could lead to faulty print-outs.
