The Fill In Cartridges for Brother LC-1220, LC-1240, LC-1280 can be refilled very easy as all other Fill In Cartridges. You only need to remove the sealing plug and fill in the ink into the cartridge. We recommend preparing the workplace in a way that no permanent staining with ink can occur.
You will need the following supplies
Take the cartridge and place it on the table in front of you (picture 1). The Fill In cartridge has 2 sealing plugs. The sallow plug is for refilling ink the coloured one closes the vent hole. Remove the sallow sealing plug (picture 2).
Draw ink into the syringes. For the black cartridge you need 30 ml black ink, whereas for the 3 coloured cartridges only 15 ml each are necessary. Now fill in the ink tino the filler opening (picture 3). After refilling the cartridge you can reinsert the sealing plug. The Fill In Cartridges are not refilled completely, a bit air is always left in the cartridge.
After you have refilled the cartridges you can reinsert them into the printer. If you have filled the cartridge for the first time and they have not been inside the printer, you need to remove the coloured sealing plug (picture 4). It is for pressure compensation: The ink which is used for printing creates a negative pressure inside the cartridge. Through the vent hole streams air and the pressure can be compensated. If you carry the cartridges the vent hole has to be sealed with the plug. Otherwise the cartridges can leak.
